Is it safe to drive to Daly City tomorrow?

We were planning to go to Dickens Fair at the Cow Palace tomorrow, but...y'know, Stormageddon happened.

I live farther northish and I do NOT want to schlep down to the Bay tonight (the other folks going with me live there and ahem, would really rather I not drive down tomorrow morning after the rain stops) if we end up not being able to go. The decision, and some awkward phone calls, needs to be made on my part SOON. I don't particularly want to go down there in this weather if we're not going to the fair, so just going down there and playing it by ear tomorrow isn't something I want to do. I also won't be able to go any other day but tomorrow (and it was MY idea so if I cancel I'm kind of an ass), so....argh.

From what I have been able to find online, hoo boy, has there been flooding, but I don't know if that would affect getting over there or not from the East Bay. Doesn't look like the Cow Palace has been closed or out of power or anything like that, but I don't really know the area well enough to judge. So if anyone around here's in that area, what do you think I should do?

I drove up 280 from Palo Alto and crossed the Bay Bridge yesterday to Oakland around 3pm without problems. I can't imagine there will be issues tomorrow, especially now that the rain has more or less stopped.

I drove 101 south from Potrero Hill this morning past the Cow Palace and had no issues other than slow traffic. There was a flooded lane further south near Oyster Point (which is further south than where you are going), which caused a slowdown.

I think as long as you pad some extra time into your trip and leverage the Waze app, you should be fine.

I also commute through this area and all was fine. I think that the major problems were during the storm yesterday, but things seem far, far better today. Even in areas where it was raining a bit, all was well.

I avoided my usual 101 to 380 to 280 S route this morning just because of the accident at Oyster Point (which is south of the Cow Palace exit), and 280 was fine - all lanes clear - so you could always loop around that way if need be. That said, the weather today is supposed to be just light scattered showers, with no rain tomorrow. You should be fine.

Response by poster: In the end, it was fine and dry. Thank you!
