Best mechanic in West Philly?

I need a new mechanic (chain I was going to is exhorting customers). I'm looking for something within a mile of 45th and Baltimore (ish). My car is ~5 years old and shouldn't be having problems (I was quoted for over $1000 in work for parts that are supposed to last another 30-50,000 miles). I'm hoping to find someone good, with reasonable rates, who is trustworthy.

If you're a member AAA can put you in touch with someone who won't scam you.

Best answer: Does it need to be in West Philly? I've always had good experience with (and heard crazy good things about) Eleventh Street Auto in Bella Vista/Ital Market area.

I have a 20-year-old Maxima that I take there for safety inspections; anyone with even a hint of scamminess could find a hundred ways to fail it, I'm sure, but last year it passed completely.

(If it's a transit issue, the 64 bus passes within a few blocks of both them and 45th and Baltimore.)

Also, Reds (on Vine, around the middle of the city, say 12th) has been great, gotten great reviews, low-to-no crook factor.

I've used Wayne's at 45th and Springfield this past week actually and found them to be great. They found and fixed a $30 issue when they probably could have said it cost much more. My girlfriend uses them too and has said good things.
