Advice for trainee teachers

I've been training as a teacher for the last two months and it occurred to me that there might be an Ask a Manager type resource for teachers, particularly related to issues that arise in the classroom. Some caveats:

- I am teaching ESL to adult students. Websites geared towards teaching other subjects to adults would probably be helpful, websites geared towards teaching children may not be (although feel free to prove me wrong).

- I am based in the UK. Any advice about classroom management outside the UK is appreciated but anything around non- UK laws and regulations won't apply to me.

- I am currently studying two days a week and teaching for one day a week. I am beginning to grasp the theoretical aspects of teaching (although would still appreciate any advice in that regard). However, my real need is practical classroom based advice.

Thank you

Best answer: The Chronicle forums, particularly the In the Classroom one, are up your alley and similar to MeFi are mostly US-focused but have international posters as well.

Best answer: What about the TES Community? It is primarily for teachers of children, but searching for ESL finds some discussions that could be relevant to you.
