Help me pick a cool new mailbox!

I live in a city rowhouse, and was just congratulating myself on my purchase on a new front door when I realized, d'oh! My new door doesn't have a mail slot like my old door did!

So now I have to buy a new mailbox to mount on the brick next to my door, and I'd love to find something cool, contemporary, and unique. I have a bit of a zen garden theme going on out front, and I like minimalist, modern, clean styles. This particular mailbox is in the running, but it's a bit too wide to put right next to the doorknob, so I'd have to put it on the hinged side of the door. (Bonus question - is that weird?)

The mailbox doesn't have to be lockable. I'm open to solid colors (the new door will be a slatey blue), or a silvery metal (no gold or copper).

Do you have, or have you seen, interesting or unique mounted mailboxes? Thanks!

Make sure you check with USPS before putting up your mailbox. They have very specific guidelines and are surprisingly rigid about their enforcement of them.

It's a custom mailbox from Etsy- have you tried contacting the seller to have them make one to your specs?

Also, a mail slot can usually be installed in a door pretty easily. If you prefer a slot, that's something to consider.

I also wanted to say that a mail slot can be installed in the door.

It is inexpensive, easy, and your mail is more secure.

Best answer: I always admire these on the rare occasion when I see them around here: radius design
