iOS 8 Video Editing App That Lets You Hear The Audio While Trimming?

I'm interested in making perfectly-looping Vine videos of me playing guitar riffs. I'd like to shoot and edit these videos on my phone (iPhone 5, iOS 8.1), without using a desktop editor. Is there an app that allows you to hear audio while editing?....

Now that you can import videos created elsewhere into Vine, I thought this would be a pretty straightforward thing. However, in order to create a video of this type that loops the way I want it to, I'll need to be able to hear the audio while trimming the clip in order to set the start/end points correctly…and every video editing app I've found silences the audio when you're in editing mode. Right? Am I crazy?

I've tried:

iMovie
Splice
uh...a few others I can't remember right now

If anyone knows of a video app that lets you hear audio while you're editing and could tell me about it, I'd be eternally grateful. I feel like I must be missing something here…

Thanks!

I don't have a direct answer for this, sorry, but having done a fair amount of regular audio looping - couldn't you just look at the waveform (it looks like iOS iMovie lets you view the waveform under the clip view - hopefully whatever app you have lets you zoom in close enough to see it clearly on an iPhone screen) and set the start and end points that way? Especially with a riff that you've played a few times in the row, I would think it wouldn't be too hard to pick out the loop points that way.

Best answer: Use Vine itself!

When you bring a clip into Vine, you can edit its length right in Vine. Grab and slide the clip until the beginning is right where you want it, then slide the tool at the other end to dial in the end point. It will preview the loop and when it's just right you can finalize it.

Response by poster: thanks for the responses, you guys!

raisindebt, I'm not seeing any waveform in the iMovie app, and its interface for trimming clips is maddeningly imprecise. Unfortunately, I don't think it's going to work for this.

markjamesmurphy - I see what you mean about editing inside Vine. Unfortunately, there's no sound involved in the process, so I'm unable to make the edits I need.

Any other ideas? Thanks!
