Very specific furniture valuation: 1950s dressers

I have 2 dressers that were purchased by my parents from the Design Research store (an offshoot of The Architects Collaborative (TAC)) in Cambridge, MA in the 1950s. They are not in perfect shape, but I still want to sell them for a decent price - where can I turn to figure out what they are worth/and or how much I should ask for them?

For this sort of thing I always check Craigslist, in a major metro if you can't find any listings in your area.

the keyword you want is "mid century." These things have surged in value in recent years, a teak veneer piece in good condition could retail in the $1000 range, at least in a big East Coast city. google shows me this, for example.

Determine if they are marked or stamped and the characteristics of them. Google the descriptors (ex: high boy, blonde, veneered, hair pin leg) and try to find a match on craigslist or MCM dealer sites. You might also email a photo to your local DWR and ask if they recognize the line. DWR tends to well specific well documented lines so finding an exact match is fairly likely.

You can memail me a photo and I'll see if I can give you any hints.

Knowing what you have will go a long way to securing a higher price.
