better internet service provider for Lake Oswego, Oregon?

We're located in zip 97035, currently get Comcast and, frankly, it's pretty slow and, worse, unstable. So spotty that I feel like I'm living in the late 90's.

You could check to see if Verizon FiOS is available in your area. It's been my experience that DSL tends to be the only other competition that Comcast gets, and I have yet to see DSL perform better than Cable in typical situations.

You don't seem to be looking for advice on troubleshooting your current connection problems, but I do wonder if there's something about your current setup that is preventing things from working properly. If that's the case, switching providers is may not ultimately fix your problems, so it may be wise to make sure that Comcast is definitely the issue. Not saying Comcast is perfect, or that it couldn't be the problem, just that it'd be a good idea to cover all the bases.

I have Comcast in SE Portland. I pay for their higher-tier plan since we stream everything and the speeds are great. Maybe see if they will bump you up a tier for a trial period.

In warning, I do NOT recommend Clear Wireless. It was slow and laggy and didn't even get a signal sometimes.

You pretty much have three choices: CenturyLink, FiOS or Comcast. Like tacodave says, avoid Clear if they provide service in Lake O.

For what it's worth, I have Comcast as well and I've previously had problems like what you describe not because of the service itself but because of a flaky wi-fi router (mine) and later on a flaky wi-fi adapter (also mine). Have you tried troubleshooting your own equipment or talking with Comcast? The reason I ask is that as much as I hate Comcast and what we pay for it, it's still better than FiOS and CenturyLink for available speeds. In my opinion, it's really not worth switching if you can get it working correctly.
