I need a game!

What are some good, cheap puzzle-based PC games that require strategy but not so much that I can't play it while drunk?

I'm currently playing Bejeweled 3, and I like it a lot (very flashy, lots of explosions). There's a little bit of strategy but if I'm drinking it's not impossible to play either. And I like how the voice tells me how I'm "excellent" all the time. I also like Bit Trip Runner. Also flashy, fun music.

What are some other games like this? I'm pretty new to games but I really like puzzles and strategy, maybe adventure, no shooting or complicated MMORPGs. (I'm on Windows!)

Try Peggle. It's by the creators of Bejeweled, and it's a bit goofy, but it's a ton of fun. Tough enough to be hard when sober, but also hilarious when drunk.

Also, since you are new to PC gaming, I would recommend installing Steam. It's not a game, but rather a marketplace and digital library, with thousands of free, cheap, and full-price games to choose from, including reviews and guides. There are other online game marketplaces, but Steam tends to be the gold standard against which others are judged, and a good place to start. If you really don't want to install it for some reason, there are many casual Flash games available at sites such as Kongregate.

Honestly you sound like an ideal customer for Big Fish Games. Tons of things that are great to play while somewhat impaired, with a few really great gems hidden here and there. Bejeweled is the grandmother of the Match 3 genre. I like some of their adventure games, those are the kind where you point and click around different screens, find objects and achieve objectives or explore places to uncover mysteries. Most of them you can install a free trial to see if you like it or not before paying for it, and they have tons of sales all the time. No, they're not super innovative games, but they are relaxing and fun and often quite pretty, and a big step up from free and free-to-play.

Response by poster: Wow Peggle is crazy. Really liking the Beethoven.

Yep I have Steam, the only problem is that there are so many games I want all of them!

Steam has great sales every winter and summer. Its a good chance to stock up on some of those fun options you can't choose between, or which are normally just a little too much for an impulse buy.
