What Are These Adhesive Bookmarks Made Of?

What is the exact material of these bookmarks? It's a type of extremely thin transparent plastic like sheeting tape - I need to know the name. Thanks.

Is it like some currency, made from sheets of polymer?

I don't know for sure, but it seems like a type of cellophane to me

The ones I have are just small strips of post-it notes. To me, these look identical.

take one in to your local TAP plastics type store that does commercial plastic fabrication/window films/etc and show it to them. if the person at the counter doesn't know, someone more experienced in the back will. i've had success with that and just describing the material.

Best answer: I would have called it a thin acetate. They don't rip, so I don't think they're a coated paper. If they're made out of roughly the same material as these Post-It flags, you could try calling 3M/Post-It and asking about the material: "Office Supplies Division Information Line at 1-800-395-1223 for additional information about Post-it® Notes. Hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Central Standard Time."

They seem open to talking about recycling/recyclability issues and that's the phone number they offer for questions.

Best answer: The package in the photo says PET, which could refer to polyethylene terephthalate, a common plastic.
