Help me learn the Korg Gadget iOS app

I recently downloaded the Korg Gadget app for my iPad and I'm intrigued by the possibilities. Although I've played the drums for many years I've never used any music production software. I'm somewhat overwhelmed and not quite sure how to go about learning how to create and combine tracks and "scenes" to create songs.

I'd like to know the best way to get a good understanding (beyond what's provided in the decent but not deep) user manual. There aren't more than one or two youtube tutorials and they didn't cover very much. I also see this as a stepping-stone to using something like Ableton.

Lastly, I'm planning on picking up a midi controller like the Akai MPK225, which I think will help make the experience more tactile and engrossing vs. the touchscreen alone.

After a brief look at that app, it appears to be a collection of emulators for real world gear. There must be lots of information on the web about using the IRL gear. I'd start there.
