Name That Song: Ever Think About...

"Ever think about" call and response between a male and female singer. Ukulele/banjo, chanting, but somehow unidentifiable via Google...

I heard a song in Chipotle this week but the only lyric I could catch was the phrase "ever think about," which shows up in a million songs, none of which seem to be the one I heard.

It's a high-energy twangy song with a female and male singer alternating a call and response every verse, each of them starting with "[Do you, did you?] ever think about" for their verse. It's a very indie folk kind of sound, a little twee, and would probably be considered a hipster or Apple commercial kind of number. There's ukulele/banjo being played along with the singing, but that's not the only instrument. The female sings in a fast country-ish glottal stop Norah Jones-ish way.

The song ends with a lyric being chanted over and over by a group of singers, wall-of-sound style. I really feel like I should know this, but can't seem to google it up. Chipotle's site only lists the last 20 songs they've piped out to their stores, so that's no help to me either. Help?

You can stream the music playing at Chipotle's here. Presuming it repeats, that might a way to run into your song eventually. You might enjoy having SoundHound on your phone for the next time you want to ID a song.

This is maybe a bit of a stretch, but Steve Earle and Emmylou Harris -- I Remember You?

Best answer: The Tale of You and Me by Wild Child! It was on NPR's "Best of SXSW" mix a year or two ago, and I was obsessed with it for a solid week. (The lyrics are really arresting, too – way more sinister than you'd think from a casual listen.)

Response by poster: Yes! Thanks, rofreg, that's the song. I got the lyrics totally wrong, it sounds like. They never quite say "ever think about."

Thanks everyone!
