Does Honda dealer repair warranty reciprocity exist?

Before I go down to my local Honda dealer service shop, I am curious to know if a warranty on repairs made at Dealer X are ever honored at Dealer Y?

This is a late 90s vehicle, well out of its original warranty.

However, in 2012, I had the transmission replaced at the dealer. It's a automatic transmission for an Accord that came with a 3 year, 100k warranty when it was installed by Dealer X. Now, I've moved elsewhere in the same state, and my local dealer is Dealer Y. In your experience, is there any possibility that Dealer Y would honor Dealer X's warranty?

My feeling is no, but at the same time, it seems like the transmission itself has a warranty as a Honda product, so any dealer would have to cover it.

Does anyone have any experiences with this?

You might want to see if Honda's customer service office would help with this. Also, there's this, that might be relevant.

What does the warranty paperwork say?

I cannot speak to a Honda, but I can speak about my experience moving cross country with a Ford (F-150). I had had a new engine put in and then about a year later moved. At first, the dealer in the moved to location was hesitant to honor the warranty. His reluctance was not based on the part, but rather on not knowing the dealer that installed it. I suggested we both call the Ford regional office together. We did. Ford assured him that it would honor the warranty. There was some attempt to get some documents from me proving I had moved, but I told them to look at the friggin registration.

However, Ford has a points program that rebates in credit 5% of work done at dealers. Those credits were not transferable. Not even between two dealers 25 miles apart owned by the same group.

If it was a new Honda factory transmission, and the warranty is from Honda itself (and not something the dealership tagged-on) any Honda dealer should honor the warranty. Just make sure you have the paperwork.

I asked this exact question with out-of-warranty repairs I had done a few states away from home. I was told that if repairs are done at an actual Honda dealership, the parts and workmanship would be guaranteed (for the stated and expected life of the parts) at any honda dealership. I think you shoud be good here.
