Looking for pieces of vinyl

Some moons ago I found an online vinyl record store that seemingly had hundreds of thousands of records for sale for dirt cheap. I cannot seem to find this link in my bookmarks nor can I locate via standard Google searches. Since I lost my hidden gem, I was wondering where everybody else purchases their records. Musical tastes are varied, but mostly lay in the rock genre with jazz and classical right behind. Thanks!

I purchase my records at my local record store(s). Is the Finland location in your profile accurate?

Here in Chicago I like:

Bric-a-Brac Records
Reckless Records
Permanent Records
Laurie's Planet of Sound

Best answer: I love Discogs for its easy to use interface and wantlist feature - it lets me know if a certain seller has other records I am looking for.

Response by poster: I'm located somewhere between Helsinki and New York. I probably should see if I can update that in my profile. I'm from NY and spend a fair amount of time in both locations, but was looking for the best online option.

Best answer: Seconding Discogs as the place to buy and sell records online.

I haven't ordered (or even visited the site) in several years, but back in the mid 2000s I used to love gemm.com for ordering vinyl from random shops for pretty great prices.

Best answer: Thirding Discogs. Not sure if it counts as dirt-cheap, but anything used I find at a local record store is bound to be ~50% cheaper on Discogs. You gotta group stuff to get the best deals because shipping but … buying more records than you need is the name of the game, innit ;)
