My sister-in-law, who has been trying to find this poem for years, first heard it from her grandmother. It's at least 50 years old and rhymes.

Response by poster: Thank you, webmistress. I swear, we both consulted google prior to posting the question.

You not only answered the question, you also redeemed her negative impression of the mefi community, i.e., she was disturbed by scarabic's helpful information re how to dispose of a body. (I didn't mention that that was my introduction to metafilter - I stumbled upon it when I was looking for something or other - and that I knew immediately that you all are my kind of people.)
