I want to know who made my vase. How do I do that?

I bought a vase at a thrift store today (pics of the vase and the marks on the bottom are here). I'd love to know who made it, but I don't even know what to Google.

I assume the marks won't look familiar to anyone, and searching for "h pottery mark" is fruitless. I'd like to add more key words to my Google search, but I'm not sure what to even Google to find out more about my vase. Is it stoneware? Earthenware? What type of glaze style is that? Are there any other key words I could Google to find the maker of my vase?

Have you tried a google image search on the mark?

If you think it was made locally, find a local ceramicist and ask them. They all know each other.

Kovels Pottery & Porcelain Marks

Try searches for "ceramics makers marks", "pottery vases makers marks", et cetera.
