Chromecast functionality on Google TV

Although my old Sony NSZ-GS7 Internet Player with Google TV box offers the remarkable option of a workable Chrome browser on a television, for convenience it would be handy if I could utilise the Chromecast app on the ipad to send things. Last year there was a rumour that this technology/software would be added to Google TV but searches have led nowhere. Any ideas?

Response by poster: Oh and I should add that I could buy a Chromecast but I don't have enough HDMI sockets.

Its very unlikely to be added. Buying a Chromecast is your best bet.

If the problem is a lack of HDMI ports, HDMI splitters can be had for under ten bucks. I have this exact unit and it works great.
