Best third-party scanning software?

I'm looking for a third-party general scanning app for a document-feed-capable Epson Perfection 1640SU on an XP Pro machine. VueScan is a good example of what I'm talking about. What have you used that you like?

If you are going to be doing any OCRing then I recommend Abbyy FineReader. I haven't used it since FineReader 5, but I had the exact same scanner+document feeder and it worked very well.
