Enhance my smoothie experience

Please share with me your awesome protein smoothie recipes. The only requirement is that the smoothies use either chocolate or vanilla protein powder. Anything else goes.

Current smoothie formula: frozen fruit (pineapple/strawberry/mango/papaya), skim milk/almond milk, scoop of protein powder, cinnamon. When I'm feeling frisky I throw in some natural peanut butter. Sometimes I substitute water for the milk/almond milk.

Your most awesome smoothie recipes, so long as they can be made with either chocolate or vanilla flavored protein powder, are greatly appreciated.

Bananas make everything yummier. Also, flax seeds.

1/2 avocado, nondairy/milk liquid of choice, and sweetener. Does both vanilla or chocolate flavor well.

Chopping and pre-freezing the banana makes very nice texture.

How about Coconut Cream (freeze it in cubes), Cold Coffee and either vanilla or chocolate protein powder. Very rich and creamy! Frappuccino!

A serving of coconut cream has 4g carbs and 2g sugar.

Bananas make smoothies sweeter, avocados make them creamier.

Personal favorite:

1 banana, preferably on the brown side
1-2 cups frozen blueberries (or raspberries, strawberries, cherries....)
1 cup yogurt
1 cup milk
1/2 avocado
1-2 scoops vanilla whey powder

Also, if you like chocolate/peanut butter combos, they make powdered peanut butter called PB2 which blends better in smoothies. I'd imagine a smoothie like that would contain banana, milk, yogurt, PB2, chocolate whey powder, and avocado, but I haven't personally tried it. MMM, but maybe I will when I get home...

My favorite:

honey to taste

Banana "nut" crunch:
1/2 cup of all bran (not the flakes) (when blended, this becomes the "nut" in the name)
1 banana
A lot of cinnamon
protein powder (vanilla or chocolate)

I don't like the way bananas overpower everything else in my smoothies. I also don't use dairy in them. My favorite:

Frozen blueberries (I like Trader Joe's because they're small & have a high skin-to-flesh ratio)
1 scoop chocolate protein powder
1 scoop super green powder (again I like Trader Joe's, which contains a bunch of greens)
1 Tbsp flax seed oil

I like smoothies with berries and chickpeas, because I'm a weirdo garbanzo loving person.

But seriously, chickpeas add a decent amount of protein and fiber, and when mixed with something tart and flavorful like mixed berries, you can't really taste them. I'm sure you can put a scoop of your usual protein powder, but I like berries+chickpeas by themselves, and maybe banana with a small handful of spinach.

For post lift protein I go with:

Vanilla whey protein powder
Unsweetened cocoa (I like Guittard)
Some chocolate sugar-free pudding mix (which functions as a thickener since I like a think shake)
A few drops of Trader Joe's Peppermint extract (this is a lovely, lovely peppermint flavor)

No fruit so it's not really a smoothie, but it's really yummy.

I like almond butter instead of peanut butter. You could also try other nut butters for variety, but raw almond butter is pretty reasonable at Trader Joe's if you have one nearby.

Frozen berries (Any)
Blueberries (Always!)
Yogurt (Any, 2 spoonfuls)
Vanilla protein powder (scoop)

I like to use just enough milk so the smoothie blends and I am forced to eat it with a spoon.

Similar to some of the others here, I usually have this for breakfast:

1 banana
1 cup blueberries
2 scoops vanilla protein powder
2 TBSP almond butter
as much spinach or kale will fit in the blender

Sometimes the banana and almond butter get swapped out for avocado; the blueberries sometimes get swapped for different berries; sometimes I use mango instead of banana; sometimes I use no banana at all.

We just hopped on the Breakfast Smoothie train in our house, but our very easy go to is:

Crushed Ice
Some water
Big scoops of plain yogurt
Handful of frozen berries (Costco Tri Berry mix)
Protein Powder
Frozen baby kale

I like rose water in smoothies. Two recipes I've been using:

1) Strawberries, banana, greek yoghurt, almond milk, vanilla protein, rose water.
2) Pistachios, almond milk, vanilla protein, banana, greek yoghurt, rose water.

On a similar note, I have this avocado/banana/pistachio recipe bookmarked but haven't tried it yet.

I have a smoothie for breakfast every morning and have started to make them larger so one of my kids can have some too. Now that the weather is warmer, and I'm feeling summery, I've been going with:

1 orange
half a can of pineapple chunks
vanilla protein powder
a bit o' milk or vanilla-flavoured milk-like substance
a bit o' orange juice (or, if you're feeling wild, frozen oj concentrate!)
vanilla extract
dollop of honey
crushed ice if you want it cold and icy

Tastes exactly like an orange creamsicle.

Green Smoothie

1 cup fresh baby spinach
1 scoop protein powder
1 cup blueberries (frozen or fresh)
About 5 strawberries
1 banana.
1/2 cup or 1 cup of almond milk if you want a lot.

Oats! Adds texture and generally yummy-ness.

1 banana
1/4 cup of rolled oats
4 large ice cubes
1 - 1.5 scoops chocolate pea protein powder
enough almond or soy milk to allow it to blend nicely
honey to taste

If I'm sick of bananas, then instead I do any combination of fruit (but no honey) - e.g., 4-5 large strawberries + some canned mango, or a nectarine + 2-3 plums, or... whatever takes my fancy at the grocery store.

Good thread!

This is my current morning favourite:

1/2 cup skim milk
1 scoop whey protein powder (I like unflavoured because then I can use the same giant tub of protein powder for all sorts of applications, but vanilla would also work OK)
1/2 cup "Tropical Mix" (strawberries, blueberries, pineapple, peach)
spinach or baby kale
2 large tablespoons greek yogurt
1 to 2 leaves fresh mint (just a little will add a strong minty flavour)
