Ziggy and .....Jerome?

Please help me settle a minor dispute. I claim to once have seen a Ziggy Cartoon where he (Ziggy) was walking and talking with his inner child. This inner child's name was Jerome. I remember thinking how unusual this was. Is this Real? Did he ever have a friend named Jerome? This had to be sometime in the late 80's or early 90's.

You probably tried Google, but I wondered if this was a modified version.
