Hi I would like to train my ears to listen to Mandarin but cannot find live streams on the Internet as I do not understand Mandarin. Can someone please help me with a few links? I can watch CCTV but cannot find the radio. VLC or iTunes compatible streams please. Thank You! BB

This is not Beijing accent, but, if I am not wrong, Hong Kong's RTHK does have a Mandarin station that you can listen on the internet: http://programme.rthk.hk/channel/radio/index.php?c=pth

Here's a list of some currently working addresses: http://www.1516.net/help/tuijian/radiomms1.html

I googled "网络电台 地址" and got a lot of these kinds of listings, but most of the mms links were broken. I limited google to results for the past year, and was able to get some working links.

Also, if you're willing to listen through your web browser instead of VLC, I suggest Weibo Radio.

If you're able to download apps, try Radio Chinese Plus. It's a mix of Mandarin and Cantonese news and music stations, but it's very simple to switch between options.
