What is this charm on my necklace?

I've worn this necklace every day for nearly 10 years now, but I don't know what it is.

Some sort of goblet, perhaps? Have you seen this charm anywhere else?

I found it in my house and it belonged to my brother, who also doesn't know what it is or where it came from. My best guess is that it was purchased from a street vendor in Berkeley, CA.

Here's the back of it. The inscription looks like the number 30. Does that indicate what kind of metal it is?

Just curious. Thanks friends!

The symbol on the back looks a bit like Om.

Looks kind of like a fancy communion necklace?

I was also going to suggest a communion charm.

are you sure you photographed it rightside-up? turned the other way, it would look like "OC", perhaps the jeweler's initials.

To me, it looks like a loving cup.

It immediately made me think of a stylized version of a claddagh ring.

It looks like a keepsake of a First Communion.
