Trying to identify some sort of miniature pine tree.

My in-laws are giving me a couple of houseplants, and I'm trying to identify them, or at least find out if they are dangerous to our cats. Photos after the jump.

Our cats like to eat plants, and we want to make sure they won't get hurt if they try to eat them. Here are some photos: 1, 2.

It's clearly some sort sort of evergreen tree, but more information would be great. Thanks.
