A Father Rescues His Son in a Bolano Novel

What is the name of the short story the episode in a Bolano novel, probably "The Savage Detectives," in which a father rescues his son from a cave is based on?

I believe the, possibly, Spanish author's name is used in the novel.

I don't know about a father and son, but wasn't there something about Arturo Belano (who is loosely based on the author) rescuing a child, that has resonances of Orpheus going into the underworld?

(Sorry, it's been a while since I read this.)
