Looking For Good Evening Spots In Los Angeles for Photo Shoot

I will be doing a photo shoot for my men's surfwear line Friday night. Nightlife theme of "Surfing the Lights of the City" I am looking for some good spots for the shoot with great well lit. backdrops. Either of the city or streetlife. Public spots or rooftops would be great. Some suggestions given by friends include the Arclight Theatre, old apartment rooftops in Franklin Village near Hollywood and roof tops downtown. Any suggestions???

The top level of the Grove parking lot is a great location. Also, the top of Mulholland is classic.

Are you doing this guerilla style, or are you going to get permits? I don't think you'd be able to get away with shooting on the roof of the Grove parking structure without a permit.

I love, love, love all the bridges going into downtown LA. The 4th street bridge coming over the river from Boyle Heights, the city lights in the background - that would be awesome.

If you know anyone who lives or works at the American Cement Building, it is an incredibly photogenic building with great views.

Yamashiro--great view of Hollywood, and you can probably use their parking lot for free.

The Santa Monica Pier. I'm not sure how much you can get away with on the actual pier without permits, but you can certainly try shooting from the bike path or maybe even the beach parking lot adjacent to the pier. The Ferris wheel is lit up all night, but I'm having trouble picturing the rest of the pier after hours st the moment. I'll try to remember to look later tonight or in the morning
