So I bought these tights....

I bought these awesome tights from ModCloth and I have no idea what to wear with them. They are grey and teal and it's just a bit of an awkward color combination. Can you recommend specific pieces or colors for me to pair with them?

Well I love bright colors and standing out. I would go with an orange skirt.

I'm just spitballing, and I think a bright skirt would be fine, but I have a gray sweater dress, and if it were me, I'd be tempted to wear them with that, figuring the simple neutral of the gray would keep the focus on the tights, plus neutrals don't fight with great colors.

Dark teal and mallard are really "hot" right now, so that's what I'd go with.

However, I'm currently wearing a green dress with orange tights and purple shoes and necklace, so what do I know?

I personally would stick to that color palatte (grey/teal) to keep the focus on the tights. So a teal skirt / grey top, or all grey, with teal accessories

I think they'd do very well with something otherwise quite plain -- navy, brown, deep beige, or dark green. Let the dress look quiet and classy, and tights say, "wow, cool."

1. Those tights are amazing. I am ordering some now too.

2. When I get them, I will be wearing them with a knee length black or grey dresses or skirts.

3. Ohmygod these tights.

I would wear them with a either a maroon, grey, or black sweater dress.

Grey and teal is actually a really great combination!

I think you can go one of two ways with this:

1. Wear a dress or a skirt/top combo in some sort of darker neutral, ie, black, navy, dark brown, slate grey. This will make your tights the "star" of the outfit.

2. Wear a dress in a color that exactly matches one of the less-dominant colors in the tights. This works especially well with a bright color. Here I'd suggest the teal or the yellow. This will draw the eye to that color in the pattern.

Either way, you're drawing attention to the tights, but in different ways. I would avoid wearing more than one color with these tights (even if both colors match the tights) or wearing patterns, because then there will just be a lot going on and the tights won't get the attention they deserve. But my style is pretty minimalistic - if you want to go with a look that's more eclectic/"zany" then go crazy!

Oh, and I would wear a shorter skirt, definitely above the knee. You don't want the hem falling in the middle of the design!

Now I really want these tights. I have the perfect teal dress to go with ...

I would wear an eggplant-y purple dress with these.

Colors that might be fantastic with those tights include orange, mustard, teal, or purple. If you like color, these are great with lots of color. There are so many great dress/sweater/top/skirt combinations in any of these that would look fantastic with these tights.

I'd wear a dress in that yellow/orange detail in the tights. Scrumptious! I do think a solid-color dress would be the way to go; something strong, like the list Nimmie Amee has.

I think you could go with almost any strong or neutral color so long as you stay away from prints.

I'd wear these with a knee-length black dress, and black heels.

Love those tights!

Those tights are fantastic. I would wear a black dress (doesn't matter what kind - a sweater dress would be fine but so would a really plain little black dress) and black or maybe teal heels (flats if I had longer legs). I (personally) don't care for bright colors paired with statement pieces like that.
