Help me buy a Japanese label printer

I want to buy a label printer, the kind that prints on rolls of colored tape. Like this one. Difficulty: under $50, and able to print in Japanese. Bonus question: do any label printers (Japanese or non) support generic rolls of tape, or do they all use their own proprietary cartridge systems?

Criteria:

• able to print in Japanese
• I should be able to buy replacement label tape for it in the US, preferably inexpensively
• under $50 (I thought this would have been easy, but on my last visit to Japan all the $35 label printers at LOFT had been replaced with models well over $50.)

I prefer a standalone model that doesn't need a computer attached.
