Help me find information to include in a letter to my local representative.

First I have to insist that this post is not intended to offend or raise anyone's ire.

That said, I am looking for any news\information regarding http://www.exodus.to/ - the international freedom from homosexuality group. Preferablly news stories I can site in my letter to my Rep. I've had no great luck drilling down into Google - typical - and finding what I need. I am wiriting my Rep. to express my distaste for a recently proposed person for a federal office and wish to tell my Rep. that this person was not only once on the board of that orgaization but that the oprganization is dubious in its sucsess at 'curing' homosexuality.

Harriet Miers was not a member of Exodus-freedom-from-homosexuality, she was a member of Exodus-help-former-inmates-get-jobs.

And your Representative would have no more to do with it than your mayor or the King of Albania would. Nominations are confirmed by the Senate.

Best answer: This post was about Exodus International, not Harriet Miers. So let's give johnj the benefit of the doubt and answer his question. I'd start with well-known gay-rights groups, especially those that focus on families by focusing on groups like Focus on the Family. PFLAG comes to mind. Exodus has plenty of enemies, you should be able to find lots of information on their failures.

The first rule in writing one's representative is to have all the facts. Your letter will be disregarded and tossed if inaccurate.

Harriet Miers was on the board of Exodus Ministries, which seeks to aid ex-prisoners and their families. She was not on the board of Exodus International, an ex-gay group. There's a huge difference.

Response by poster: alen.spaulding: thanks for the pflag tip. I must be even more off my game to not have thought of that!! I was so focused on a web search gone south that I forgot what I already knew!
