Upgrading android regrets

In a previous version of the android operating system there was a function to be able to take a picture of a moving object and have its motion captured in one image. Like this. The most recent andoid OS (Jelly Bean) doesn't have this function any more (that I can find). Help me find something that can do the same thing!

I have tried finding a secondary camera app that would allow for it but no dice. I do not want to go back to Ice Cream Sandwich.

I know there is supposed to be a new version (KitKat) coming out in October (alledgedly). Any idea if it will be on that new version?

What phone are you using? Does it have stock Android or a manufacturer-specific build like TouchWiz/Sense/Motoblur?

I've been using pretty-much-stock Android since "Eclair" (from an original Droid to the Galaxy Nexus) and I don't remember any feature like that in the stock camera app. (That being said, I haven't really gone too far in-depth with camera features, so it may have been there and I missed it)

Agreed. This is a manufacturer-specific feature.

Response by poster: Samsung Galaxy S2. My carrier is Rogers in Canada, in case that matters though I doubt that it does.

It's a Galaxy thing, not an Android thing. My S3 has it.

Response by poster: What version of android are you running, blue_wardrobe? My S2 had it too, until I upgraded the OS to JellyBean, so it isn't that my phone is incapable of doing it. It used to do it. I just need an app/patch/whatever to let me do it again.

I found a wikipedia article about the function, and it even references the S2 as being capable of doing it.

The S4 has this feature and it looks like you can download the S4 camera app and install it on a Jellybean phone.

How weird! I have an S4 (running Jellybean 4.2.2) and just glanced through my camera's options, only to discover that I'd lost the Drama function as well (along with the Eraser function and a few others). Following advice I found on this forum thread, I went into my Application Manager and cleared the data and cache for the Camera app - and now all of those camera functions are back in place.

Hopefully that'll work for you, too (and, uh, thanks for alerting me to a problem I hadn't realized I had!).

I'm currently running the Hyperdrive ROM, RLS 13. It retains the Samsung Galaxy features. I don't know if there is an S2 compatible Hyperdrive ROM.
