Baby monitor from webcam? (portable screen connected to wi-fi?)

We have a foscam webcam with night vision and the works. We can access it via wifi on our phones and computers, but want a dedicated screen to use as a baby monitor. Portable and/or plug-in... what are our options? Thanks!

Best answer: I'd go with an inexpensive 7" Android tablet. Last year's Nexus 7 can be had under $200. And if you're willing to go off-brand, those are even cheaper. Any of them should be perfectly capable of being used in this capacity.

Best answer: Seconding an Android tablet, and a 3rd-party app like TinyCam, which is a good viewer/controller, to the point that I don't use the native Foscam controls unless I really have to poke around in admin.

Best answer: See if you can procure a used android phone/tablet. I use my old Bionic in a LapDock and TinyCam. First I'd ask around to see if any of your friends have an older phone they are not using. Barring that, hit up eBay or Craigslist.

Best answer: Kindle Fire HD ought to work too, since it has Amazon's app store which does have TinyCam in it. The 7" Fire is currently on sale for $160 at Best Buy.

Response by poster: You sparked my memory! Dug up an old ipod touch ($0) and FoscamPro ($6). Small screen, but should get the job done. Thanks for the help!
