Name my kitty! Kitler edition.
September 6, 2013 3:43 PM   Subscribe

I am breaking my lurker status by asking a "name my kitty" question. Will you please help me name my new adopted shelter kitty? She's about 2 years old, and very sweet and playful. I would like a girl name. I know all about the "cats that look like Hitler" sites, but I'm not into exploiting that cute little mark on her nose (even though I was considering naming her "Eva" for a while). I'm open to just about anything. And kitty thanks you in advance, she will enjoy no longer being called "New Kitty." Oh yeah... here's the photo!

That cat's name is Dottie.

And thank you for rescuing a kitty who, if the ear tipping indicates that she's a former member of a feral colony, has likely had a tough beginning to her life.

What's her personality like? Names should reflect personality, either hers or yours.

For what it's worth, I think the mark on your cat's nose looks more like an arrow than a Hitler 'stache (side note, it totally looks like the arrow is pointing up her nose). That being said I look at that cat and the first name I think of is Clara.

No, that cat's name is Pixel.

Just me buuut....the little nose marking looks like a tiny cat arm coming outta her nose. It's adorable.

2nd seeing the arrow pointing up and toward her left eye. Hence:

Fed Ex
Left Eye

But I really like Rosie.

Which is why you're going to let your inner 3 year old out and name her Booger.

Jenny Anydots.

It takes the spot into account, and it's a literary reference about a character who's very nice and quite progressive.

I would name her Spade, because the mark on her nose looks to me like a spade (from a deck of cards) tilted some degrees to the right.

I like Splotch but if you want a girl's name that's a bit punny, Eileen (arrow on nose leans towards her eye).

We recently brought a stray kitten home from Quebec (with proper vaccinations and paperwork) and my family vetoed what I thought was the perfect name for this awesome cat. So, since I can't use it I will offer to you what is, without a doubt, the greatest name ever for a cat:

Poutine.

You're welcome.

Why does it always have to be a Hitler cat? Why can't it be Charlie Chaplain cat? Or that Tolstoy character with the "downy upper lip" (you know she totally had a 'stache)...

Batgirl
Daisy
Blanche

Butterfly (for her butterfly mask) Could also be translated to Mariposa or Psyche

Clarabelle (considered this one for my own moo-cow spotted cat. I still sometimes use it as a nickname, along with Spot, Spotty McSpotterson, Lady Spotsalot, and Rorschach.)

I agree that the nose spot looks like an arrow. Robin, maybe?

All things considered, what she looks the most like to me is a Millie.

So many good ideas! I think I'm going with "Charlie." But she'll have an assortment of middle names from some of the suggestions here. This cat's going to have the longest name on island. Thanks for all your help!!
