I want to watch The Spectacular Now, RIGHT NOW.

Help me find a way to watch The Spectacular Now online. Doesn't have to be free.

It's out "in select theatres" as of August 2 so I must be able to find it somewhere, right!? Google has led me to a lot of spam/ad websites, or sites promising to let me watch if I'll fill out a survey (or five). It's not on iTunes yet. Do you have a tried-and-true website that streams obscure indie films instantly, paid or free?

Best answer: It's opened, yes, but they're hoping for a slow build, eventually being nationwide in September, according to Deadline Hollywood. Here's another mention of their release pattern. Which is all to say that no, you're not going to find it online now unless it's pirated, and I'm sure you don't want to watch that version, because that would be wrong.

For what it's worth, sometimes my cable provider (Comcast) has independent movies for streaming available on demand, before or while they are in theaters. I doubt they will offer this movie since it seems like a relatively major indie, but they had Bachelorette, for example, before it was in the theater. Not for free, though.

A24 Films is releasing the movie theatrically with no VOD plans, like every movie they've done so far. You'll need to wait 'til the rollout makes it to your town.
