Looking for information about a painting and the artist

Photos of the painting are here, including a close-up of the artist's signature, David B. Young. The painting belongs to a relative, and I'm trying to find out more information about the artist for her.

I think the painting is of a storm crossing across a sparsely-forested landscape. Her ex-husband says the name of it is something like "Upcountry Storm" and her son says it's of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Her son thinks that she bought it a year or two before he was born in 1965 -- so maybe she bought it in 1963 or 1964. She paid $125 for the painting at that time.

We think it's an oil painting, but don't know how to be sure of that.

All I've been able to find is this out-of-print book, called A project in landscape oil painting, by David B. Young. It was published in 1963. But the name is fairly common, so I'm not sure if it's the same person.

I'm looking for any information at all about the painting or the artist, especially photos of other works he may have created and biographic information about him. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Best answer: Art-Exchange has an entry for a David B. Young who was active in the western U.S. in the early 1960s. (Google cache)
