Want the Facebook info, but don't want an account. Help?

I would like to be able to aggregate the "open" Facebook pages of interest: primarily retail store discount codes into an easy overview web page - but, at the same time, I do not want a Facebook account. Are there any page aggregators out there that can help me do this?

A lot of retail and online stores often advertise discount codes, and other specials through their Facebook pages. Often these pages are "open" so that you don't need a Facebook account to see their info. That's great, because I do not want a Facebook account (various reasons - primarily personal info security). It's a lot of work/time to visit all of these pages individually, so, how can I go about collecting the info on these "open" pages into an easy web overview for me to enjoy? Some aggregators (Flipboard, Glossi) will help aggregate your own FB/Twitter accounts, but I want to view other pages without an account. Kind of like an RSS reader of sorts for social media pages.

Can this be done?

Best answer: Have you considered opening a Facebook account using a fake name (and fake other details) purely to access the FB Pages?

Best answer: You may be concerned, quite reasonably, about Facebook not keeping your personal information private. But for the most part, it's not like they're verifying what you give them. So why not open an account in the name of Al Chemist, with no other information, and Like a bunch of stores?

You can just subscribe to an RSS feed of Facebook fan pages. I do this.

I don't remember how I originally got the feed addresses of the pages I follow now, and I'm absolutely certain it was a less convoluted way than this, but there you go.

(Of course, you'll have to use something other than Reader. Sob).

Coming at this from a slightly different direction, there are sites like RetailMeNot that exist specifically to aggregate coupon codes and deals. This may not work if the businesses you're interested in are local places like restaurants, but if you're trying to track chains and online retailers, there's a good chance that they'll show up on those sites, which can send you alerts based on your preferences.

I just used lampoil's link, but I used the weird email address that you use to send email>SMS so that I'd get the feed as a text. Appears to be working.
