105x74mm Index Cards

Where can I find 105x74mm index cards in the US?

I recently visited France, and while there I bought some blank index cards that seemed to be the perfect size. I think they are 105x74mm (is that A7?). Where can I get index cards that are this size in the US (either in person or online)? (I'm in the SF Bay Area if that impacts anything.)

Can you buy 3x5 cards and have the 5 inch side cut down to 4.25? Some stationery stores will cut to size.

A7 is indeed 104x75mm. You might be able to find them in specialty card/stationery stores, but I suspect it will be a lot cheaper to get 3x5in cards trimmed down using a guillotine.

At least in my area, Staples will trim down paper at the cost of $2 per cut (on a stack, not per sheet; there's a maximum number of sheets per stack depending on the thickness of the paper) so my guess is that some cheap off-the-shelf index cards plus two cuts at $2/each will be the way to go.

Best answer: You could also order some from one of the European Amazon sites -- .co.uk, .fr, or .de. Shipping will cost in the $7-$10 range, so you'd be best off if you were ordering several packets or ordering other stuff along with.

Try Mai Do. There are several in SF, and one in Santana Row. They carry a number of A-sized notebooks and refills, including things in that form factor. While there, check out their selection of pens.

We make our own index cards, because we use various sizes, and if you want A7, you're in luck, because you can get six (as opposed to five 3x5's) out of standard 8.5x11 stock.

You'll need a paper cutter, but good ones are fairly cheap. Buy a package of 8.5x11 cardstock any place...it's also cheap, and you can pick your color.

For A7's, simply cut the cardstock in half lengthwise, then stack the halves and cut three, 3" lengths out of each. Very fast, and very little waste. Use the little 2x4.25" scraps as notes, labels, whatever. Or, trim them to standard business card size, 2x3.5.
