Help me remember a horse book.

I need help remembering this book that I read probably between 1988 and 1994. It was a horse story, probably very young adult age. There were horses and a girl named Nat (short for Natasha, I believe).

I don't remember much more than that except I think Nat just moved to this horse farm with her family. Another girl/neighbor sort of stumbled upon the farm and Nat and this girl become friends. I think Natasha wore a braid all the time (or perhaps I imagined that she did?). Lots of horse stuff going on. A great book for a horse-crazy kid like I was.

Goodness, that's all I can remember. Help!

Can you remember anything *about* the horse stuff? I'm afraid I have a much better memory for coat color than hairstyle, although I read a whole damned lot of these as a kid.

(Default starter search: everything by Marguerite Henry)

Response by poster: Bah, I've read so many of these books too. Not Marguerite Henry. I'm thinking that perhaps the neighbor girl sort of clicked with Nat's mother or father? And that Nat was jealous of the connection this girl made with her parent(s). Not remembering any horsey details.

I think that happily after all had horses, but the girl was named rebecca.

Response by poster: Found it! Everyday Friends.

**wish I had made a list in my youth of all the millions of horse books I read. There are so many I don't remember or just remember vaguely.
