Why did fireworks just go off in Houston?

Ok, so it sounds like a bunch of fireworks just went off downtown. I have never had such a hard time finding info on fireworks as I have in this city. Why did they go off and where can I find any info on ones coming up? (not the 4th, got that, thanks)

Why oh why do they make it so hard to find info? My google-fu is admittedly weak, but... oy.

The Astros do 'Friday night fireworks' when they win. Tonight they won 3 to 2 against the Cleveland Indians.

Happens every Friday night in Atlanta as well, win or lose ...

The information is hard to find because there isn't one centralized source for fireworks being set off. There may be a need to get fire marshal approval (if the fireworks are being set off legally and not just by some reckless teenagers or something) but if it weren't the Astros it would be some other sporting event or a one-time grand opening celebration or something entirely unrelated.

Actually, it's every Friday night home game, win or lose.
