Strange Plants Now Flowering What are They?

A new bunch of plants flowering now - they are very unusual - can you tell me what they are?

Spring, Negev, What are these and what are they useful for? Thank you very much..

Best answer: The tall one looks like an ornithogalum. I'm not sure which, but here's a list of Mediterranean ones to take a look at.

Best answer: And the second one looks like a frumaria. The linked website has a nice plant id mechanism if you have any more to ID.

Response by poster: Awesome sciencegeek, you hit it - the tall one is Ornithogalum ponticum and the second one is Ornithogalum ponticum :))))))))

shrabster - it looks very much like Ornithogalim ponticum but there is no red or pink whatsoever - so no.

Nowstill to ID this beauty with little balloons all around it.

The balloons are not cleome. Can you get a better picture of the foliage on that one. I think that the balloons are the seed structures - so we don't have flowers to go by for ID.
