Resources for public domain/CC vector art

I'm looking for something akin to Rpg Maker VX Resource Planet, except with vector art. I'd like resources for public domain or CC-licensed vector art assets for use as placeholders in games. I'd prefer SVG format and paths that are as simple and small as possible, but anything convertible to SVG is cool.

This is exactly what www.openclipart.org is for!

From the site: "Open Clip Art Library (OCAL) is the largest collaborative community that creates, shares and remixes clipart. All clipart is released to the public domain and may be used in any project for free with no restrictions."

And most if not all of it is in SVG format. I have used it for various projects, it's pretty great.

Response by poster: Thanks – those look pretty handy. To piggyback on the question a bit, are there any Mac apps for doing simple SVG animation? I'd like to take a simple SVG I either find or draw, and then move a few points and tween them, ideally.
