Name that artist: photo portraits of people suspended in the air

Can anyone name the photographer behind a series of portraits of people suspended in mid-air, including this one?

This image was an unlabeled snapshot from a show some time in 2010, and was most likely in either a gallery or museum in San Francisco. No idea what the rest of the content of the show was. (I'm asking this for a friend, who's been searching for some time with no luck. Will pass along any followup questions, with a brief delay.)

Best answer: Looks like David LaChapelle (and water, not air).

Best answer: Both Tineye and Google image search have a browser plugin that enable right-click search by image.
