Maui High-speed Internet

Any high-tech work-from-home Maui residents? If you work from home on Maui and absolutely definitely depend on having rock-solid high-speed internet access... where do you live and where would you avoid moving? Is there a single company that offers access? Related question... are power-outages a regular occurrence that would affect location too? mahalo.

How fast do you need to be?

Response by poster: I'm currently with Xfinity (not in Hawaii) paying for their "PowerBoost with download speeds up to 30 Mbps and upload speeds up to 6 Mbps"... (Quoted from their web-site. I am not getting anything close to those speeds).

I guess that my preference would be anything better than DSL. The primary concern is minimizing outages.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

thank you.

I used Oceanic (internet and phone, do not have cable TV), husband works from home and we stream all our viewing via Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, etc. Oceanic is pretty reliable for Maui and I really donʻt have much of a choice, since it is my only choice. I live in Haiku. I would avoid Hana and anything beyond Haiku. I think Kihei and Lahaina-side have pretty good internet. But really, you are on a rock in the middle of the ocean and things happen.
