James Bond, women, fleeing death

How many times has James Bond used a woman's body to prevent himself from getting killed (blocked a bullet from hitting him with a woman, etc)?

I can't think of a single time that's happened, actually. There have been plenty of times when he's turned bad guys around for other bad guys to shoot at instead of him but a woman? Honestly can't think of one.

I can't think of one either.

I will second the 'I can't think of any', and I've been re-watching them recently, and have made it up to Roger Moore.

I think this is something that the written Bond might do, but the filmed Bond would be unlikely to do, up until the last maybe ten minutes of the film, where you have an unambiguously bad-guy woman's body handy.

Response by poster: A friend told me that he does it while dancing with a woman in Thunderball, so there is at least one! We also sort of remember that happening in an earlier movie while he is making out with someone...

Best answer: aaanastasia, you are thinking of Goldfinger. Early in the movie, Bond's contact Sierra betrays him. While they kiss, a man with a club sneaks up behind Bond with the intent to knock him out. Bond sees the man reflected in Sierra's eyes and quickly spins her around so she gets hit.

The reflection-in-the-eyes thing has happened more than once, but I cannot think of a time this happened to make sure the woman took a bullet, however.

Best answer: No way, that was definitely the villainness Fiona in Thunderball who Bond used to block the bullet. Then he sat her body down next to some other partygoers and quipped "Do you mind if my friend sits this one out? She's just dead."

Best answer: I seem to remember that Timothy Dalton pulled a towel off a woman in one film to expose her upper body and buy him a seconds distraction. It was definitely the sort of clinical, callous thing book-Bond and the current Bond would do.

Best answer: Yes that happened in "Thunderball" just as infinitewindow describes.

The bullet enters between the spread fingers of Bond's hand - a close-up showed them bloody.

Oh, I agree, I meant she was thingking of Goldfinger when she said she thought there was a similar incident before Thunderball.

Best answer: The spy who loved me had a scene like that. A secretary was set up to delay Bond while an assassin shot him, mid way through the kiss she changes her mind and warns him ends up getting shot.
