G3 Tower DIY

DIY: What can I do with an old G3 tower computer (or maybe a couple). I'm thinking maybe a file server or a web server. Any other neat ideas???
I'm running two web servers on two B&W G3's running 10.3.8 and hooked up to static addresses. Works really well (low traffic only.)

-will take you to a blog about the Mac mini that includes lots of projects that work on the G3's also.
Have fun.

I suspect leafwoman is wrong on this...I think you have a beige g3.
Beige machines are notoriously difficult to install OSx on.
In OS9 it's a bit unstable over the long run as a server (and you'll have to buy one...to work in OS9)
Realistically, you'll look at a Linux install (red hat or yellow dog.)
Yellow dog can recognize quite a bit, has downloadable PPC binaries that you can build a CD and then install on the machine.
I have an old G3...perhaps I'll do this this weekend.

I'm not wrong because I'm doing it now. The information may not apply if it is indeed a beige G3 (question did not specify) but I did specify B&W.
