Good, current ambient drum-n-bass?

I'm looking for recommendations for contemporary, ambient drum-n-bass. Or, if the genre names have shifted, something that does the same for me as the less bombastic output of LTJ Bukem. I have Chrissy Murderbot's mix, and that's also a good benchmark, though I think that comprises older stuff, too.

I don't know if this is messier than what you're looking for, but: hvywtr

These days, they're calling a recent genre of drum & bass with a touch of deep house/tech house production technique "liquid drum & bass" or "liquid funk."

I've really been digging on this lately.

A really good example of this type of music is Random Movement's podcast. Another is Digitally Imported's Liquid D&B station.

That Chrissy Murderbot mix has got some nice bump to it. I'll have to listen to that when I finish what I'm thumping in the headphones right now: Basswerks Sessions, Vol 3 (also in this general vicinity).

Great q'n. I get an LTJ vibe from Seba: 1, 2, 3

(Though now I think about it that last link dates from '98 and is thus a little less "contemporary" than you're looking for, Seba is definitely still releasing stuff - the first two are from '08 and '09)

And sorry, one more link. Seba also did a mix for K Mag which might be up your alley (and might give you a few more leads).

Stray seems a good example of a more minimal style that came in a couple of years ago.

Response by poster: The Schnauss podcast is exactly what I wanted. Digging Seba, also.

Drum and bass has changed so much in the past few years but Fabio has always been known to play the more melodic, liquid style and has what I imagine to be the most access to every significant producer, at least in the UK scene. It may be worthwhile to search back through other Fabio shows (but not Grooverider--he's the darker one.)

Response by poster: I actually have a some Fabio material from the late 90s--will revisit!
