Where can I buy escarole (broad-leaved endive) in SF today?

I was hoping to make an escarole (broad-leaved endive) dish for Thanksgiving tomorrow, but haven't been able to find anywhere to actually buy escarole.

I've looked at various Safeways and Whole Foods in San Francisco but haven't been able to find it. I also tried the Civic Center farmers market this morning but couldn't find it there either. My last resort is going to be a trip to Rainbow today after work. If anyone knows of a specific place that definitely stocks escarole, let me know.

Market Hall Rockridge in Oakland has escarole. You can go on BART.

Kind of a schlep, but I called to verify.

Rockridge Market Hall
5655 College Avenue, Suite 201
Oakland, CA 94618

Open until 8

If you are traveling by BART, it couldn't be easier to find us! If you are coming from San Francisco, take the Pittsburg/Bay Point train and get off at the Rockridge station. Market Hall is located just across the street from the BART station.

The only thing more fun than hearing, Rockridge, Rockfridge station! Was Froootvale! Froooootvale station!

Go to Bi-Rite. Good luck!

I've bought mine at Rainbow in the past. Curly endive can usually substitute, too, if you run out of options.

Response by poster: Great suggestions, but I actually found it at the Safeway on Geary/Webster.
