email problems.

A company that I do technical support for has paid http://www.hosting365.ie/ to host their web pages. They also included email in their package. The problem is Hosting 365's email service really sucks. The server deletes parts of messages and takes days (or HOURS if you are lucky) to deliver outbound messages. So I would like to start hosting their email through another company but leave their web pages hosted with hosting 365. Is this possible? Can I make sure that the company's email addresses stay the same? Who is a good email hosting company to use?

Yes it's possible. And yes - Hosting365 suck!

What you need to do is get another hosting account with another company OR a specific email hosting company. It doesn't matter which - as long as their not H365!

Then, you need to contact your domain registrar and get them to update the 'MX records' for your domain to point to the new host. This means web traffic still goes to H365, but email (the MX bit) goes to the new place.
I do this myself, web with one company, mail with another.

Good companies:
34sp.com (standard webhost, but very reliable, cheap, UK-based. Use them just for mail no problems)
runbox.com (dedicated email host, the ones I use. Good for power users. Excellent service.)
Check emaildiscussions.com for more help on email hosts and this sort of thing.

If you have control over the MX records for the domain, you can do this.

But if a hosting company's email service is so crappy, it would be wise to steer clear of them for hosting the site too. It indicates either incompetence or laziness, both of which are unacceptable.

Many people love mailsnare.net for email. I assume its roughly similar to runbox.
