Which movie is this scene from?

Help me remember which comedy movie has this scene with a clerk who pretends to be deaf, then answers a ringing phone.

A guy goes into a gas station (or hotel?) and asks for directions. The attendant is sitting down at a desk and just stares back at him. He yells his request louder and the attendant gets a strange look on his face and keeps staring, then slowly points to his ear and opens his mouth in a weirdly hilarious expression. The guy starts to apologize, and then the phone rings. The attendant answers it in a normal voice and holds up a finger to signal the guy to wait. After the call, he calmly asks the guy what he needs and gives him the directions. The look on the guy's face is priceless.

I saw this scene in a rented comedy movie a few years ago, but for the life of me I can't remember which movie, or even which actors were in it.

For some reason I found this scene really funny and would like to see it again, but I just can't remember what movie it's in. It's not a very old movie, if I recall correctly, should be within the past 10 years or something. The scene is fairly short and the clerk doesn't appear again in the film. I seem to remember that the protagonist was under a time constraint so the attendant's shenanigans were holding him up from what he needed to do.

Does anyone remember this scene? Thanks!

Don't remember that scene as such, but I do know that John Cleese did an entire movie about a guy who was under a time constraint and things kept going wrong - does that sound familiar?

It sounds like a scene from Faulty Towers.

For some reason, I am thinking perhaps The Hangover?

Blame it on the Bellboy? Just a wild guess.

There was an episode of Bored to Death that I think had a similar scene.
