80s/90s Made-for-TV buried alive movie - ahh!

Late 80s/early 90s made-for-TV movie filter: girl, possibly with Multiple Personality Disorder, is buried alive by her sexually abusive father.

The father has built a weird little underground room thing outdoors, in a wooded area, equipped with a battery-operated light and a fan and a supply of water (I think).

She is buried alive for punishment, or to keep her from turning her father in, not with the intent to kill her. There may also have been snakes involved, if I remember.

It may have been broadcast on USA network, but I'm not sure.

Does anyone remember this weird movie? A co-worker and I remember the movie, but not the name, and we're about to go crazy.

I know that this sounds weird but I recall there being a real case very similar to this in that era. Could this be a made for TV version of the real story?

Response by poster: Actually, yes. I believe it was based on a true story.

Voices Within: The Lives of Truddi Chase

This sounds like Truddi Chase. She was on Oprah and has a book "When Rabbits Howl". From what I remember the book contained all acts of imaginable beastiality, incest, and deprevation of privacy (think never being able to piss without someone watching) imaginable. In fact I believe that there was some conterversy over Truddi Chase and whether she made some of it up. It's one of those stories that keeps getting worse even after it hits rock bottom.

I've never seen the tv movie, but from the NYTimes report on When Rabbits Howl, I'd say I nailed it:

"[It] recounts that her stepfather used to lower her down a well and throw live snakes on top of her. "

I'm not aware of a movie, but there was a true-crime book about a woman who was abducted and kept in a box for seven years. It's called Perfect Victim.
