What was going on with this speaker when we were listening to this band? It was a big, round, object that would spin around fast at different times.
When we were on Beale Street listening to some bands this weekend, we noticed a speaker that had a microphone going into it. It was open in the front and you could see this large object that would start to spin very fast, stop at times, then spin around again? What was that and what is the purpose of it?

Sounds like a Leslie, yes. Was there an organ player in this band? Running electric guitars through a Leslie is also fairly common.
