Resort in Playa del Carmen

Flying into Cancun for a week in October and thinking of staying at Playa del Carmen - need recommendations for a hotel or resort that can accommodate lots of energetic activities AND slothful beach relaxing.

Extra points for a resort that can offer us condos with at least 2 bedrooms and some kitchen facilities. Thanks for any suggestions.

go to www.playa.info . there is a wealth of information on this website about lodging etc. Make use of the forums and trip reports as well as their list for lodging. tons of useful information. we usually stay at one of the big resorts since we have our kids, i don't have condo experience myself but El Faro looks awesome although i haven't been insde. it is located at 10th and the beach I think. i imagine it is pricey. very very nice grounds though and within walking distance of anything you might possibly want. it is a condo complex with a beach club and pool that is right of the beach.

eat at carboncitos though. we don't miss it when we are there.
