Help me find this one hit wonder

Spanish Guitar, moody instrumental, one hit wonder. Help!

Looking for the name and artist behind what I think is a 70's one-hit wonder. Its a moody piece and it starts out with someone singing "in the beginning" and a nylon string guitar with a single slow strum.

Dying to know this song.

Best answer: Maybe you're thinking of ELP's "From The Beginning"? It's not instrumental, though.

"Classical Gas"

Dang. I was going to say "Classical Gas", but I didn't remember any spoken parts whatsoever.

Best answer: Agree with littlerobothead - the group is Emerson Lake and Palmer, the singer is Greg Lake, and they are resolutely not one-hit wonders. Greg Lake was with King Crimson before joining ELP, and they had such hits as Lucky Man, Tarkus and Karn Evil - and at one point were grossing as much as Led Zeppelin. If you like From The Veginnung, I invite you to check out their other songs on YouTube. You will not be disappointed.

Best answer: Er, From The Beginning that is.

Best answer: Yep, sounds like ELP's From the Beginning to me, too. Major band from the 70's.

Response by poster: Thanks. I had always grouped it with the one hit wonders. I'm getting old, I can't remember half the songs I used to be able to remember.
